Candle Care
Enjoy your candle safely and get the very best from every burn.
Vesperis candles are handmade using a carefully selected blend of plant waxes. Because natural waxes behave differently from paraffin, following a few simple care tips will help your candle burn beautifully and last longer.
First Burn
The first burn is the most important.
Allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container. For most Vesperis candles, this usually takes around 1.5–2 hours.
This helps prevent tunnelling and promotes an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
Trim the Wick
Before every burn, trim the wick to approximately 5 mm.
A properly trimmed wick helps maintain a steady flame, reduces soot, and allows the candle to burn more cleanly and evenly.
Burn Time
For the best performance, burn your candle for up to 4 hours at a time.
Allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before lighting the candle again.
Candle Safety
Always:
- Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from curtains, paper, and other flammable materials.
- Leave at least 10 cm between burning candles.
Extinguishing the Candle
Whenever possible, extinguish the flame using a candle snuffer or gently blow it out.
Allow the candle to cool completely before replacing the lid or moving the container.
Natural Wax
Small imperfections such as frosting, slight colour changes, or tiny surface variations are a natural characteristic of plant waxes and do not affect the quality or performance of your candle.
Each candle is handmade, making every piece unique.
When to Stop Burning
Stop using your candle when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the container.
This helps protect the container from overheating.
